whoo's cute?
i'm rather proud of this, in a ridiculous sort of way. i'd never made anything like stuffed animals before this project, and after making a few with other people's patterns i decided to try my hand at drafting my own. i wanted to make a little owl that could stand up on his own, and voila! yes, i know it's silly. how hard is it make a pear with pointy ears and a few darts? not very. but still.
i'm also proud of my hand-sewing skills. generally i consider myself allergic to hand-sewing, as it requires dexterity and patience and a lot of hunching over and poking myself in the thumb with needles. but after forcing myself to learn the ladder stitch and blanket stitch i decided i might as well try them out. i really like the little something it adds, don't you?

love, susan
that is very cute.how do you find time to make such pretty amazing things and to take care of all the boys? natasha.
I love it! I really want to make stuffed animals, too. For Valentines day last year I attempted to make the girls little softies. I should really take pictures of the ugly little things. I made a birdie for V(cause they are so trendy :O), and a bee for Faith. I think the bird was somewhat decent, but the bee was a monster with no head. Yeah, I think I'll find those beasties and post a picture of them, if I have them, we might have thrown them away already! Anyway, after that, I feel like I just can't do it, but it really can't be that hard, right? In reality, I haven't sewn anything in over a month and I dread lugging the machine out, it has some tension issues and I don't want to take it in to be serviced, but that is probably what it needs.
